Sat May 25, 2013 10:48 pm We had
seventeen kids come play this year-- with a perfect score, Joshua Parker of MS,
Sam Parker's son,
won both his age group and the playoff between the age group champs, earning him
$200, the title of ACF Youth Champion, and more trophies and checker books than
he could hold! We hope Joshua will join us in other ACF events soon.

Here are the prize payouts; all prizes were donated by Charles Walker:
Ages 13-18: 1. Joshua Parker ($100), 2. Jake Frommeyer ($50), 3. Kaleb Marroy
($25), 4-5. Laura Parker and Zach Heiztmann ($13 each).
Ages 10-12: 1. Landon Thomas ($100), 2. Cameron Adams ($50), 3. Hunter Callahan
($25), 4. Jasmyn Rains ($15), 5. Rebekah Smith ($10).
Ages 7-9: 1. Gavin Kinney ($100), 2. Austin Mcdonnell ($50), 3. Adam Heitzmann
($25), 4. Haleigh Braun ($15).
In the Youth National playoff between the age group champions, Joshua finished first, winning all four of his games and rewarded another $100. Gavin and Landon tied on match points, but Gavin won a playoff so he got second place ($50). Landon won an extra $25 for third place. Total Prize Fund of $766.00
Both Youth Nationals and MS Out-of-State Tournaments were held Saturday and Sunday at the International Checkers Hall of Fame in Petal, MS. The youth tournament was funded by the ICHOF Youth Fund ($500) and the ACF Youth Fund ($500), with meals and additional prizes provided by Charles and Deloris Walker. Charles also donated $100 to the out-of-state tournament, and Deloris kept us all fed and comfortable all weekend. Thank You! Charles and Deloris Walker. Alex Holmes did not play in the Youth or MS Out-of-State, because Alex had a soccer game the same weekend as the tournament.
